All Choices well informed

12th January,2015
QUOTE OF THE DAY:
“INFORMED STEPS MINIMISE MISTAKES”
Memory Verse: “So Lot chose for himself
the whole plain of the Jordan and set out
toward the east. The two men parted
company”
Genesis 13:11.
Every action one takes has its origin as
thoughts and choices, and the sum of all
actions produces the kind of person one
eventually becomes. There is a power in
man, received at creation, which when
properly used will bring confidence
instead of timidity, calmness instead of
confusion, poise instead of restlessness,
peace of mind in place of heartache. I am
talking about the will power or the power
of choice. An average person is daily
confronted with several alternatives on
sensitive life issues from which he must
make a choice almost on an hourly basis.
Issues such as where to go, who to meet
and what to say etc; intermittently pose
themselves as vital and destiny-defining
question that must be correctly
answered. This is where the subject of
choice comes to play, and except choices
are guided by the spirit of knowledge and
wisdom, there is bound to be mistakes
and regrets. Some choices bring
happiness, joy and fulfillment while some
bring tears, regrets and poverty. For
instance, the woman who gave birth to
Ronald Amundsen, the first man to reach
the North and South Pole wanted him to
become a medical doctor but Amundsen
decided to give his entire life to polar
expeditions based on his passion, love,
experience, dream and skill. Interestingly,
in 1926, Amundsen made his trip to the
North Pole in an airship built and piloted
by an Italian Engineer, Umberto Nobile. He
became the first person in history to
reach both poles. What an informed
choice of career!
According to Genesis 13:8-13, Lot ended
up losing his wife and properties because
the location he decided to choose for
himself was based on mere superficial
considerations of glamorous ephemerals.
Are you about making a decision on some
major issues of life? Never be in a hurry.
Take your time to pray, make adequate
consultations, and read relevant books.
This will widen your knowledge base and
consequently inform your choice. God
does not hurt anybody, in fact He loves
you. He has given you the power to help
yourself by giving you the right to make
your choices in life. Remember; be careful
of the choices you make because you will
always bear the consequences of those
choices.[pullquote]Are you about making
